HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?PLATINUM+ Teeth Whitening treatments sessions are either 20 or 30 minutes each. You should expect another ten to twenty minutes added to your time frame because we first go over a consent form with you and explain what we’re going to be doing during the process. Also, in between each session, we have to allow time for you to rinse & need time to reapply the whitening gel. We take photos to document as well.

HOW LONG DOES TEETH WHITENING LAST?Lasting results solely depends on each individual person and how they maintain their results. Some last longer than others depending on what each individual persons habits are. For example, a customer that drinks coffee every day or smokes would need treatments more frequently than someone that doesn’t. Our customers results typically last up tp one year. Touch up sessions are recommended 2-6 months to help you maintain your brightest smile! Please note the longer the treatment the better your results. Remember everyone's results will come out differently, there's no way to tell until after the treatment is complete.

HOW DOES TEETH WHITENING WORK?Teeth whitening works by using bleaching agents, such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, to break down and remove stains on the teeth. These bleaching agents penetrate the enamel of the teeth and break apart the molecules that cause discoloration. PLATINUM+ whitening products are enamel safe and have little to no sensitivity.
-
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM A WHITENING TREATMENT?Almost everyone. However, there are some cases where treatment may not be as effective. While taking certain medications, Tetracycline (antibiotic) discoloration, is usually not greatly responsive to teeth whitening. But you can still get results. Everyone isn't considered a good candidate for teeth whitening. We recommend that you see your Dentist before booking an appointment with us, if you have an over excessive amount of tartar on your teeth, have deep intrinsic staining from cigarettes, if you have Fluorosis, if you're having any pain, discomfort, or if you have visible cavities on your front teeth or severe gum disease and gum recession.

WHAT ARE THE SMALL WHITE SPOTS LEFT ON YOUR TEEETH AFTER A WHITENING?The white spots are minor hypo-calcification spots. During the teeth whitening process, the chemical reaction of the peroxide breaking down generates some slight heat inside the tooth. This heat causes the pulp and dentin to expand. This expansion pushes water out of the tooth. The final result of this may be that the teeth lose water or dehydrate and appear whiter temporarily, usually last about an hour but can last up to 24 hours. After that they begin to recover and absorb water from the saliva and regain some of their color. This is what we refer to as “dehydration of the teeth”. Some of the whitening that you see is most likely initial dehydration, not actual bleaching. How much of it is bleaching and how much is dehydration is impossible to know ahead of time. ** PLEASE NOTE ANY PRE EXISTING WHITE SPOTS ON YOUR TEETH BEFORE RECEIVING A WHITENING TREATMENT MAY BE SOMETHING CALLED FLUOROSIS IN WHICH THOSE STAINS WILL NEVER GO AWAY. THOSE PRE EXISTING STAINS MAY ACTUALLY BECOME WHITER AND MORE NOTICEABLE DURING & AFTER THE WHITENING PROCESS. WE HIGHLY RECCOMEND THAT YOU SEE YOUR DENTIST PRIOR TO WHITENING AND ASK ABOUT A PROCEDURE CALLED ENAMEL MICRO ABRASION. ONCE YOU GET THAT DONE WITH YOUR DENTIST THEN YOU MAY PROCEEED AND SCHEDULE YOUR WHITENING APPOINTMENT WITH US.**

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS TO WHITENING YOUR TEETH?The most common side effects from teeth whitening is tooth sensitivity and gum irritation. However, to avoid gum irritation during our treatment we apply vitimun E oil around the gum line and lips. This eliminates any gum tissue or lip irritation. You may experience minor tooth sensitivity. It is quite normal but rare with Platinum Plus Teeth Whitening. Sensitivity is temporary but can last for up to 24 hours after treatment because the pores in your enamel will remain open for that time period. You will be more susceptible to staining. Dont forget your white Diet. Also, reduce the amount of time you whiten to avoid sensitivity issues.
-
DOES TEETH WHITENING HURT?The answer is “No” teeth whitening should never hurt unless you have other underlying oral health issues that may need some attention from your dentist. If you’re feeling any type of pain prior to treatment or you have severe gum recession, gum bleeding, gum inflammation, heavy tartar, bone loss, and ect, we highly recommend that you see your dentist prior to booking your appointment with us!

WILL THIS PRODUCT WHITEN OR DAMAGE DENTAL WORK?Natural teeth have pores which allow teeth whitening to absorb and remove stains. Artificial dental work such as crowns or porcelain veneers are color matched at the time they are installed and do not have pores. The color of your crown or veneers cannot be changed, unless it has been replaced by your dentist. The teeth whitening process can lighten the veneers, crowns and bonding back to their original color only. They can not get any brighter than the original color they were when they were first placed. It may take multiple treatments to return them back to their original color. Teeth whitening will not damage artificial dental work including crowns, bridges, dentures, permanent retainers, bonding, or fillings. NOTE: Dentists recommend that prior to getting fillings, veneers, caps, or crowns, that clients whiten their teeth. This way, the restoration work will be installed to match your whitest possible natural Teeth shade.

WHAT IS THE WHITE DIET?The WHITE diet is non staining foods and beverages. Please follow the WHITE Diet for 24-48 hours after your Platinum Plus Teeth Whitening treatment. Remember that after your laser teeth whitening treatment, the pores of your enamel are open, which makes them extra vulnerable to any stains. Once the pores close, which usually happens 24-48 hours after the procedure, you can resume your normal habits. Non-Staining Beverages: · Water · Sparkling Water · Milk Beverages to Avoid: · Lemonade, Orange Juice, Any Acidic Fruit Juice · Tea and Coffee · Colas and Other Fizzy Drinks · Energy Drinks Non-Staining Alcoholic Drinks: · Vodka · Gin · White Wine Alcoholic Drinks to Avoid · Red Wine · Stout or Dark Beer Avoid extremely hot or cold liquids. These are dangerous to your white smile because they change the temperature of your teeth. This temperature change (hot and cold cycling) causes teeth to expand and contract, allowing stains to penetrate your teeth. Try cutting down on these types of drinks (including coffee and tea) or try drinking them with a straw to reduce the amount of time they are in contact with your teeth. Avoid foods and drinks that are acidic. Acidic foods and beverages open the pores of the tooth enamel allowing stains to more easily penetrate your teeth. Use a straw to help minimize the contact of these substances with your teeth. Cut back on drinking and smoking. Frequent consumption of alcoholic drinks and heavy smoking can reverse the effects of teeth whitening. Many alcoholic drinks such as wine have tannins that can stain the teeth. The same goes for the nicotine in tobacco. If you cannot quit drinking and smoking entirely, at least try to do it in moderation or lessen frequency. Use smudge proof lipstick to keep lipstick from getting on your teeth because regular lipstick can stain teeth. A daily at-home cleaning regime is essential to maintain the whiteness as it prevents the build-up of stain-causing particles on your teeth. If you neglect your daily brushing and flossing routines, it doesn’t take long for these new particles to accumulate, particularly if you are a frequent coffee or tea drinker. However, you can increase the longevity of your whitened teeth simply by cleaning them daily.
